Dafna Ciechanover left her position as the head of Marketing and Business Development of Excite Europe and Excite UK in October 1999 to found eos internet ventures, the Internet Development Company. Dafna is one of the UK Internet industry's best known figures. She has been widely profiled by the European press and is an active member of the Internet Community, frequently invited to speak at events and forums.

Dafna joined Excite in 1997 as Business Development and Marketing Director. She brought to Excite a wealth of experience in business development, marketing and advertising which she leveraged in helping to make Excite one of Europe's most recognisable e-brands and a leading European Web portal.

Before joining Excite, she was the Director of New Enterprises at Hanna-Barbera in Europe (now part of Turner Broadcasting). Dafna launched the division as an intrapreneurial venture, leading the concept development, business planning, and launch of new businesses leveraging the cartoon characters. Before Turner Broadcasting, Dafna worked in Brand Management at Procter & Gamble and the international consultancy firm McKinsey.

Dafna holds a BA in International Relations from Stanford University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She was born in Israel and raised between Tel-Aviv and Manhattan. She has also lived in France and Italy. She speaks Hebrew and French as well as English, and has some nostalgic remnants of a once fluent Italian.
