E4 website
E4 website was innovative in that it used dyna layers rather than conventional HTML (see technical description below:).
Purple Lizard played several roles in the site development from trouble-shooting the holding page to integrating registration and forums. James played a front end role in all the above parts of the project integrating the designers graphics into the JSP pages as well as helping with the flash holding page.
Dynalayers - instead of going to different pages or launching new browser windows E4 used DHTML to open new layers so that they looked like new windows but were modal and moveable inside the main window. It was very 'cool' and 'an exciting user experience' but ultimately it didn't quite work 100% of the time so they had to scrap it.

Jitstream - the corporate website
Jitstream arose from the ashes of Eos Ventures, the engineering team went there own way and formed Jitstream. Unfortunately it was a short life as the company was still too linked with Eos Ventures, seven of us then went on to form Purple Lizard ltd
James was responsible for the website and for the Corporate identity (including stationary)

The EOS Ventures website was a brochure for the company and it's philosophy, the website followed the corporate identity which was developed externally. James was solely responsible for the website and built the graphics and the HTML as well as assembling the content

Foodoo - celebrity chefs website
Foodoo was an e-ite - a company that eos ventures sponsored (providing the capital and the expertise to start it off). The Foodoo website was developed by the engineering department of EOS venture which subsequently went on to form Jitstream and the Purple Lizard. Unfortunately the site ran out of money and folded but in the process it won loads of awards. It's downfall was that it didn't get it's e-commerce strategy out quickly enough
This screen shot shows the celebrity chef Sophie Grigson's homepage on the Foodoo site. There where 5 other chefs, Anthony Warrel-Thompson, Ken Hom, Jon Terode, Gary Rhodes, and Gordon Ramsey
We built a content management system that allowed the Foodoo editors to add their own content and preview what it would look like on the dates that content was poing to go live

Toyota Electronic Parts Catalogue - Computer based training CD ROM
JSC produced this training CD using Macromedia Director, it's purpose was to train Toyota's parts staff to use their parts system. James built the director application with a small amount of input from the client and a graphic designer..
Royal Engineers Museum - Multimedia kiosk application
This was an interactive museum kiosk written in Macromedia Director, it's purpose was to inform the museum visitor about the exhibits around them, and to provide a bit more information about the equipment (especially the bits that where too large to fit in the museum). James built the director application with a small amount of input from the client and a graphic designer.
